Why you shouldn’t keep the same skincare routine as you age?

Nature and planet Earth are constantly changing, and so does our body.

Until the age of 20, we are growing and then we are getting older as every day passes. When we are young, we can’t notice any changes, but aging changes gears around our 40s.

Mostly we feel this as a turning point, because we keep doing the same routines as we did before: same food, no exercise, loads of stress, same amounts of alcohol etc. This also applies to skincare.

Some processes start to accelerate around our 30s, for example:- collagen and elastin synthesis in our bodies slows down after 30. We need some 10 to 20 years to see cellular changes as an illness or skin problems.

So if you are around your 30s, start to change your diet to more fresh fruits and veggies and exercise. Focus on less stress, smoking and alcohol and use more targeted skincare products.

If you are in your 40s or 50s or even 70s, no worries! There’s still so much you can do to help your body to adjust to these changes and still keep your glowing skin and energy levels at high! But you need to act fast!

As I said earlier, all of this applies to your skincare. You can use the same cream in your 20s, then in your 30s or 40s and then think skin aging is something you just can’t escape.

The good news: there are lots of options for you!

You can start using skincare that is designed to help you to keep your skin healthy, glowing and moisturised!

Anti aging skincare is made from ingredients helping to manage your aging skin problems like wrinkles, age spots or pale colour. Ingredients used in such skincare products in most cases are more expensive and you need several layers of ingredients to help you keep your skin young and glowing. This is why, usually, high quality anti aging skincare is more expensive.

Skincare products should manage several problems:

Dry skin

When reaching our 40s, it is a general tendency to have dry skin problems due to hormonal imbalances in the body. That makes it very important to protect your skin from water loss. This is where your skincare should step in with ingredients helping to keep the moisture locked in your skin.

Wrinkles

The number 1  problem for aging skin are wrinkles. Some of them we get thanks to our genes, while some of them are due to our posture or sleeping posture. However, there are some we may get from skin dryness or chances of collagen levels in our skin. The correct skin care for your condition can help you significantly improve the situation.

Collagen and elastin levels in skin

As I mentioned before, they reduce when we pass our 30s, but correct skincare and food choices can help to improve and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin significantly. The choice is yours!

Age spots

Yes, we do have them and again – food, lifestyle choices and skin care can improve the situation significantly!

If you find your perfect anti-aging skincare that actually works, you can also look for other ways to help your skin to stay young and glowing. For example, use AHA exfoliators, Anti aging masks and serums.

I would also highly recommend you face massage: with a beauty therapist or by yourself. You can easily learn to do it at home. Face massage is great because it improves blood supply to your skin, which results in better delivery rates for collagen and elastin. It also helps with oxygen and nutrient delivery to your skin, so the overall situation improves.

The conclusion is:

the changes in your body are inevitable.

However, we can help our bodies to stay young, vibrant and healthy with the correct lifestyle choices and by adapting our skincare products to our changing body needs!

Stay beautiful and glowing,

Zane
