Grown on our family farm in Latvia
📍 Home: Latvia, my mother’s farm
Comfrey grows on my mother’s farm in Latvia. My 88-year-old mum picks and dries the leaves for me by hand in summer, when the plant is in full bloom. We then make the extract ourselves in our own lab.
Comfrey (Symphytum officinale) is a tall, leafy plant with bell-shaped purple flowers. It has been grown in European cottage gardens for centuries, and its old country names, “knitbone” and “boneset”, show how much our ancestors valued it.
What’s in the leaf: allantoin, soft plant mucilage, tannins and rosmarinic acid.
Why we chose it: comfrey is one of nature’s richest sources of allantoin, a famously gentle skincare ingredient. We use it to help skin feel soft, smooth and comfortable, and to leave dry, rough-feeling skin calm and cared for.

A plant for your skin, not your teacup 🌿
Some plants are for drinking and some are for the skin. Comfrey belongs to the skin, so please don’t make tea from it. If you’d like to feed your skin from within, try our mum’s nettle tea instead.
